Every May The Swim Family Foundation Scholarship provides scholarships to 4 qualified graduating Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Richardson Independent School District (RISD) seniors who plan/aspire to teach in public schools…to pursue a career in public education.

This scholarship recognizes graduating AVID seniors from L.V. Berkner, Lake Highlands, J.J. Pearce, and Richardson High Schools who plan to teach in the public schools. One graduating AVID senior from each of the 4 high schools in RISD will receive a $1000 award to help cover tuition at an accredited college, university, or community college.
