The Swim Family Foundation was established in 2022 by Joan Swim and her family to assist aspiring Richardson Independent School District, risd.org, high school graduating Advancement Via Individual Determination, avid.org, and seniors who aspire to teach in public education. For four generations our family has benefited from the quality of education that RISD provides. As AVID advocates, we contend that the mission and vision of AVID aligns with the mission and vision of RISD. We believe in the transformational power of AVID in the lives of underrepresented students. Through supporting AVID high school graduates in their post-secondary education and their actual classroom set-up, we will affect generations to come.
